SMSM is dedicated to helping under-served communities such as the unsheltered, youth, veterans, formerly incarcerated, disabled and elderly individuals through true community collaboration.
Below, check out our partners that help us branch out our efforts in our deep-rooted community.
Throughout the week, SMSM provides "blessing bags" and resources through our street outreach efforts to our unsheltered brothers and sisters containing daily essentials and toiletries, nonperishable food, resource cards and prayer.
We also provide "blessing bags" on a monthly basis to hospitalized veterans in North Carolina and South Carolina, including local nursing home(s).
Through our partnership with Crisis Assistance Ministry, we are able to provide assistance with emergency rent, utilities, and clothing for individuals in financial crisis.
Please contact our Community Outreach Coordinator, Néa, at (704) 710-6144 for more information and/or to have a referral submitted for assistance.
Kai's Little Library encourages continuous reading and learning all throughout the year. We have linked arms with Communities in Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg and schools facing literacy inequalities.
We are blessed with the opportunity to donate school supplies and literature representing cultural diversity from local authors, Promising Pages, and other sponsors to encourage students to reach beyond their circumstances.
We understand the obstacles individuals face re-entering the workforce. We have a team dedicated to help with resume building and review, assist with securing professional attire, transportation services to and from interviews, and resourcing assistance to other job-related services.
With the help of Walmart, Sam's Club, Spectrum, Costco, Food Lion, Bush-N-Vine, and other valued partners, we are able to provide both fresh and nonperishable food to under-served communities.
Feel welcome to inquire about additional details or refer us to an individual or family in need!
SMSM offers resourcing assistance to those suffering from co-occurring disorders including mental illness and addiction. We strive to promote mental health awareness and psycho-social well-being.
Our expanding network of partners include substance abuse and mental health directors, as well as resources who provide healthcare through community services, addiction and recovery programs, and peer support.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
